I am a PhD Candidate in the Spanish and Portuguese Department at University of California, Los Angeles. My main interests are in the portrayal of animals, marginalized voices and characters, cultural traditions, biculturalism, the formation of identity, and the influence of Catalan culture in Mexico. Lately, I’ve been working on Rosario Castellanos and contemporary Mexican women writers.
